Tea buds begin to form in the autumn, remain tightly closed throughout the winter, and open in late March and early April. These shoots have a very distinctive, mild flavor because they contain a high concentration of theanine, which has survived the winter. Our first green tea is carefully prepared using these early buds.
The "Satsuma no Hashiri" tea leaves were harvested in April-May in the Satsuma region (Kagoshima Prefecture) on the island of Kyushu (southern Japan). The very mild climate of this Satsuma region promotes the development of a delicate sweetness in its tea leaves. Light and refreshing, it develops a pleasant aroma of young leaves and evokes renewal. Tasting it provides a sensation of freshness and invigoration, with plenty of...umamiThis richly flavored tea is perfect for ending a great meal.
The "Oo Hashiri" tea leaves were harvested around mid-April 2025 in the Satsuma region (Kagoshima Prefecture) on the island of Kyushu (southern Japan). The mild climate of the Satsuma region promotes the development of a delicate sweetness in the tea leaves. "Oo Hashiri" is the first tea of the year, and the fresh taste of the young leaves will be more pronounced on the palate.
"Oo Hashiri" green tea is only available during the early harvest season. We only have 60 bags of "Oo Hashiri" green tea available.
