Satsuma no Hashiri – First Flush Green Tea from Kagoshima
Tea buds begin forming in autumn, remain tightly closed through winter, and finally open in late March and early April. These early spring shoots develop a uniquely sweet flavor, as they are rich in theanine that has been preserved throughout the cold season. Our first harvest green tea is carefully crafted from these tender young leaves.
The tea leaves of Satsuma no Hashiri were freshly harvested in April from the Satsuma region in Kagoshima Prefecture, located on Kyushu Island in southern Japan. The mild climate of this region enhances the natural sweetness of the tea leaves.
This tea is light and refreshing, with a delightful aroma of young leaves, evoking the essence of renewal and springtime. It offers a fresh and invigorating sensation with a deep umami flavor. Rich in taste, it is the perfect tea to conclude a fine meal.
