Tedzuka Sekiun is a renowned master ceramicist, originally from Kyoto and descended from a prestigious line of Kyoyaki artisans. Trained by his father, the celebrated Tedzuka Gyokudō, he founded Kanjūji-gama in the Yamashina district in 1972. His creations, faithful to the elegant traditions of Kyoyaki ceramics, are exhibited in renowned galleries throughout Japan. In 2001, he was awarded the name of kiln. "Kachō-gama" from the eminent master Takada Myōryō of Daitoku-ji, thus consolidating his artistic legacy in the service of tea ceramics.
