Satsuma-yaki matcha bowl with large flower bellflower (Kikyo) motifs made by Kaichi Furugaki in Kagoshima.
The Kikyo bellflower is a plant that grows wild in the hills and fields throughout Japan. It is considered one of the "seven autumn plants" and has been valued by the Japanese since ancient times.
