The bamboo whisk called "Chasen" is an essential instrument for preparing matcha tea in the "cha no yu" tea ceremony. Simmering water is poured into the matcha bowl and, once beaten with a “Chasen” matcha whisk, the tea powder becomes a frothy tea.
