Shinjo Iwasaki
Born in 1913 in Shiga Prefecture, he was the eldest son of Kenzō Iwasaki, a ceramist who restored Zeze-yaki pottery, one of the seven traditional Enshū ceramics.
Graduate of the ceramics department of the Kyoto University of Arts and Crafts.

  • Designated as a craftsman of traditional arts and crafts of Shiga Prefecture
  • 1987 Founder of the Zeze-yaki Museum
  • 1991 Honored by the Ministry of Industry for his contributions to traditional industries
