Ce bol à matcha est une création de Ryoji Nakamura, maître artisan de la céramique de Kyoto, spécialisé dans les bols en Shimizu-yaki. Le Shimizu-yaki est une céramique japonaise raffinée née au début de l'époque Edo (17ᵉ siècle) dans les collines de Kyoto.

Orné du motif de l'ancien pin, arbre vénéré depuis toujours au Japon comme un 'arbre divin' porteur de bons présages, ce bol incarne la longévité et la prospérité.
